COLMESNEIL ISD LAUNCHES FACILITY RENOVATIONS

June 14, 2024

Colmesneil ISD logoColmesneil, TX (June 2024) – Colmesneil ISD has begun a renovation project to the district’s Career and Technology Center (CTC). The building became unusable after a lightning strike damaged the electrical system causing classes to temporarily relocate to the district’s maintenance building. The renovations to the CTC will begin with replacing the electrical system followed by the installation of six welding booths. The renovated facility will also contain updated classroom, project, and office spaces.

Construction is projected to begin by the start of the summer, and the district anticipates completing instruction space by the beginning of the new school year. Financing for the project is being provided by Government Capital Corporation, Southlake, TX.

“Colmesneil ISD has partnered with Government Capital on multiple projects since 2016, and this was my first experience working together in this role,” stated Sharon Tule, Superintendent, Colmesneil ISD. “The Gov Cap team was very efficient and walked with us every step of the way. Their expertise in the market made the financing process super easy, and we’re grateful to have partnered together on this project.”

“I want to congratulate Sharon Tule and the Colmesneil ISD board on launching their facility renovations,” commented Matt Sullivan, Municipal Finance Specialist, Government Capital Corporation. “It is with great pride that we partner with Texas school districts to accomplish their goals and objectives to provide the best learning experience for their students.”

TRAVIS COUNTY ESD 2 CELEBRATES STATION RIBBON CUTTING

April 5, 2024

Pflugerville, Texas (April 2024) – Travis County ESD 2 recently celebrated the opening of Fire Station 6 in Northeastern Travis County. The new station, built in response to growth in eastern Pflugerville, will reduce response times and serve 77 square miles, including multiple schools. Station 6 is staffed by 16 personnel, including EMTs and paramedics, and is equipped with three double drive-thru bays, a fire engine, a squad truck, and a brush truck.

The station is prepared for continued growth with plans to add an ambulance and additional personnel as needed to maintain high levels of fire and EMS first response. The land for the station was donated by Pflugerville ISD, and financing for the station construction was provided by Government Capital Corporation, Southlake, Texas.

“Having this fire station here really improves response times because we have increased access to roadways that run in each direction. We know that response times save lives and mean the difference between someone having a major injury or not because of our team,” stated Nick Perkins, Fire Chief, Travis County ESD 2. “We are thankful to Government Capital, Pflugerville ISD, and all those who played a part in making this station a reality.”

“I want to congratulate Chief Perkins and the Travis County ESD 2 Board of Commissioners on their continued commitment to investing in their community,” commented Ed King, Senior Vice President, Government Capital Corporation. “Managing growth requires forethought and expertise, and the ESD’s leadership and staff continue to demonstrate their proficiency at delivering efficiencies and high levels of service to their constituents.”

REEVES COUNTY ESDs 1 & 2 LAUNCH DISTRICT IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

February 21, 2024

Reeves County ESDs 1 & 2 Station No. 4 rendering

Reeves County ESDs 1 & 2 logoPecos, Texas (February 2024) – Reeves County ESDs 1 & 2 announce the launch of their Station 4 and Certified Training Facility construction project. The new ESD station, located on the north side of the City of Pecos, will improve response times and the district’s ability to safely handle emergency situations.

The training facility will be used to provide Basic Structural Firefighter academies certified by the Texas Commission of Fire Protection. Additionally, the facility will host Emergency Medical Services Academies. The facility will include a training tower, a 100-person classroom, a state-of-the-art EMS simulator mannequin, and the only full cadaver lab in the region specifically designed for EMS professionals.

Among the vehicles and apparatus acquired as part of this project is an AMBUS, a large capacity mobile emergency response vehicle. The AMBUS gives the ESDs the ability to respond to disasters and provide emergency care and transport for local, regional, and statewide disasters. The vehicle will serve as a mass-rehab unit for extended events and will benefit the region as a resource to fill the gap between El Paso and Midland/Odessa.

The new station and training facility are being designed by Martinez Architects, Houston, Texas. Financing for the project was arranged by Government Capital Corporation, Southlake, Texas.

“There are currently few training facilities that address training needs specific to this area’s Oil and Natural Gas industry. Our plan is to work with regional O&G partners to gradually expand this facility with specialized props that will allow responders in our region to train for industry-specific emergencies,” stated Ronald Lee, Emergency Services Chief, Reeves County ESDs 1 & 2. “We are thankful to Government Capital and all who played a part in making this project a reality.”

“I want to congratulate Chief Lee and Reeves County ESDs 1 & 2 on their station and training facility project,” commented Ed King, Senior Vice President, Government Capital Corporation. “We are proud to partner with Texas Emergency Services Districts to assist them in providing the best emergency services to their communities.”
