Colmesneil, TX (June 2024) – Colmesneil ISD has begun a renovation project to the district’s Career and Technology Center (CTC). The building became unusable after a lightning strike damaged the electrical system causing classes to temporarily relocate to the district’s maintenance building. The renovations to the CTC will begin with replacing the electrical system followed by the installation of six welding booths. The renovated facility will also contain updated classroom, project, and office spaces.
Construction is projected to begin by the start of the summer, and the district anticipates completing instruction space by the beginning of the new school year. Financing for the project is being provided by Government Capital Corporation, Southlake, TX.
“Colmesneil ISD has partnered with Government Capital on multiple projects since 2016, and this was my first experience working together in this role,” stated Sharon Tule, Superintendent, Colmesneil ISD. “The Gov Cap team was very efficient and walked with us every step of the way. Their expertise in the market made the financing process super easy, and we’re grateful to have partnered together on this project.”
“I want to congratulate Sharon Tule and the Colmesneil ISD board on launching their facility renovations,” commented Matt Sullivan, Municipal Finance Specialist, Government Capital Corporation. “It is with great pride that we partner with Texas school districts to accomplish their goals and objectives to provide the best learning experience for their students.”
