CITY OF BONHAM UPGRADES EQUIPMENT FOR VARIOUS CITY DEPARTMENTS

April 18, 2018

Bonham, Texas (April 2018) – The City of Bonham announced the purchase of new equipment for various city departments. The new equipment will be used in the Parks & Recreation and Streets Departments. In addition, the Administration and Police departments will benefit from new accounting servers, accounting software and other technological improvements. Government Capital was selected to be the most cost effective, tax exempt solution.

Additionally, the process was simple, cost effective and permitted us to avoid the cost and delay associated with traditional debt financing,” stated Sean Pate, City Manager.

FRANKLIN USES LaMATS COOPERATIVE PROGRAM FOR PUBLIC WORKS EQUIPMENT ACQUISITION

January 24, 2018

city of franklin FRANKLIN, LA (November 28, 2017) – The City of Franklin announced today their successful funding of equipment additions for the City’s public works department. The new equipment will replace existing equipment that had been in service approximately 15 years.

The City selected the Louisiana Municipal Advisory and Technical Services Bureau (LaMATS) cooperative lease purchase program administered by Government Capital Corporation (GCC) as the most economical financing solution. “The process was straightforward, and a quick, easy, cost-effective method to finance much needed equipment. Government Capital Corporation made the process smooth. They walked me through each step of the process and responded quickly to our questions and needs so that the funding was completed in a timely manner,” stated Franklin Mayor Raymond Harris, Jr.

LaMATS Executive Director Cliff Palmer stated, “When any municipality is considering a lease-purchase of moveable equipment, our cooperative lease purchase program with Government Capital is a great option.”

About Franklin, Louisiana: Franklin is located along the Bayou Teche in St. Mary Parish. Founded in 1808 as Carlin’s Settlement and then named for Benjamin Franklin, Franklin became the parish seat in 1811. Sugar cane and lumber were the major exports, and the bayou was the conduit for steamboats carrying trade goods of the day. Lumber became the major industry with 11 saw mills operating by 1869. Main Street became the site of the town’s earliest development, and the business district expanded to include hotels, commercial establishments and antebellum homes. Clarendon EDC and City Partner on Two Projects

Clarendon Economic Development Corporation and City of Clarendon Partner on Two Projects for Future Generations

Clarendon, Texas (September 12, 2017) – Clarendon Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and the City of Clarendon announced the successful funding of the City’s water recreation and the Mulkey multi-purpose facility projects. These two projects will help revitalize downtown Clarendon.

The historic Mulkey Theatre built in 1946 will be renovated to bring it back to not only a working movie theatre, but also give it new life as a performance hall, conference center and the City’s official Visitors’ Center. The EDC and City plan to establish Mulkey Theatre as a distinctive place for civic meetings, educational conferences, and performing and visual arts.

Government Capital Corporation was selected to provide a 20 year term loan, secured by the EDC’s sales tax revenues. David Dockery, City Manager, stated, “Government Capital Corporation made the process smooth. They walked us through each step of the process and responded quickly to our questions and needs. These projects are for the community of Clarendon and will benefit future generations to come.”

“I applaud the EDC Board, the City Council, and the City administration on their vision of revitalizing the Mulkey Theatre and the new pool project.
