Bridge City, Texas (May 2023) – Orange County ESD 2 announces the acquisition of a new fire truck and radio dispatch system. The apparatus is replacing an engine that served the district for over 20 years and will be joining a fleet of 10 other fire apparatus and three support vehicles. The radio system and accompanying equipment will be replacing a system from the 1980s that was donated to the district after Hurricane Ike struck in 2008. The district serves as the dispatch center for eight departments, so the new equipment will provide both the district and its partners with a more reliable and current communication system. The apparatus was purchased from Deep South Fire trucks, and the dispatch equipment is being provided by Motorola. Financing was provided by Government Capital Corporation, Southlake, Texas.
“Having partnered with Government Capital for over 10 years, we know we can rely on their experience and expertise,” stated Becky Buffington, District Administrator, Orange County ESD 2. “The team is easy to work with, and they have always been able to meet our needs.”
“I want to congratulate Chief Ricky Bodin, Becky Buffington, and Orange County ESD 2 on their acquisitions and upgrades,” commented Landon Newton, Vice President, Government Capital Corporation. “We take great pride in partnering with Texas Emergency Services Districts to help them achieve their goals and objectives.”
