Huntsville, TX (December 2022) – The Walker County Appraisal District (Walker CAD) announces the acquisition of a new 14,000 square foot facility. The building represents a welcome upgrade for the growing district from its current 5,600 square foot office. The Walker CAD staff has officed in their current building since the early 1980s, so the team is excited for the upcoming move. The anticipated move-in date is February 2023 after the team completes their current tax cycle and finishes preparing the new space. The building was purchased from Sand-Spur Properties LTD, and financing was provided by Government Capital Corporation in Southlake, Texas.
“Government Capital was very instrumental in facilitating this acquisition. The unwavering support from our Board of Directors and unanimous approval from our jurisdictions confirmed what a great fit this property was, and Government Capital’s experience and expertise in working with our unique requirements is what allowed us to close the deal,” stated Stacey Poteete, Chief Appraiser, Walker CAD.
“I want to congratulate Stacey Poteete and Walker CAD on this acquisition,” commented Stephanie Cates, Vice President, Government Capital Corporation. “We take great pride in assisting Texas Appraisal Districts to meet their goals and objectives.”
