Forest Hill, LA (November 2022) – The Village of Forest Hill announces the upgrade of electronic water and gas meters including an Automatic Meter Infrastructure. This upgrade will allow meters to be read and monitored more accurately and operate more efficiently while improving service to the residents of Forest Hill. “The town’s Water Department employees currently spend approximately 72 hours a month manually reading 1,200 water meters on the system,” commented Elizabeth A. Jeter, Mayor, Village of Forest Hill. “The new system will allow that time to be invested in other needed areas such as improving infrastructure while delivering the best service possible to our community.” The Village selected the Louisiana Municipal Advisory and Technical Services Bureau (LaMATS) to assist in the procurement process. Coburn Supply Company and Aqua-Metric provided the metering solution including project design and installation. The tax-exempt lease purchase financing solution was provided by Government Capital Corporation, Southlake, Texas.
“Government Capital Corporation’s knowledge and expertise in Louisiana’s unique financing statutes benefited us during the financing of this project,” stated Laural Strange, City Clerk, Village of Forest Hill. “The team at Government Capital provided great value to us. They were very helpful and worked with us every step of the way.”
“I would like to congratulate the Village of Forest Hill on this important infrastructure improvement,” commented DC Greer, Senior Vice President, Government Capital Corporation. “Government Capital is proud to have partnered with the Village of Forest Hill on a project which will deliver tremendous benefits to the city.”
