Conroe, TX (June 2026) – Montgomery County ESD 9 has begun renovations on Fire Station No. 86. After nearly 50 years of wear and tear, the station was due for an update of its living quarters. Keeping the apparatus bays intact, the renovations include a new watch office, kitchen, dorms, weight room, and separate living area away from the apparatus. The renovations are progressing smoothly and are expected to be completed in September 2026. Financing for the project was provided by Government Capital Corporation, Southlake, Texas.
“We have partnered with Government Capital for years, and this department is built on customer service – always putting the customer we serve first – the same principal Government Capital applies to their customers,” Raymond Flannelly, Fire Chief of Montgomery County ESD 9, shared. “Gov Cap is in touch with our needs and our growth as well as our funding ability and the best financing options for a growing department.”
“I would like to congratulate Chief Flannelly and the Montgomery County ESD 9 board on their station renovation project,” Landon Newton, Vice President at Government Capital Corporation, commented. “We take great pride in partnering with Texas emergency services districts to ensure their teams can provide the best service to their constituents.”
