Canadian, TX (July 2024) – The Hemphill County Appraisal District (Hemphill CAD) announces the acquisition of an office building in a prime location across from the county courthouse and tax office. Since the 1980s, Hemphill CAD has leased its offices in a historic facility built in 1907. The team plans to transition into their new office toward the end of the year after renovations are complete and the lease on the current office space expires.
The new facility was purchased from a local private party, and financing for the acquisition as well as creation of the conduit financing structure were provided by Government Capital Corporation in Southlake, Texas.
“We’re very thankful to have partnered with Government Capital on this acquisition,” stated Pam Scates, Chief Appraiser, Hemphill CAD. “The team’s expertise in the unique borrowing structures for Texas appraisal districts provided invaluable assistance throughout the creation and documentation process of creating the necessary component unit to finance our project.”
“I want to congratulate Pam Scates and the Hemphill CAD on acquiring their new facility,” commented Drew Whitington, Vice President, Government Capital Corporation. “We take great pride in assisting Texas appraisal districts in meeting their goals and objectives.”
