Hawley, TX (October 2024) – Hawley ISD announces the implementation of a renovation and expansion project to the district’s physical education building. When the district’s previous gymnasium, built in the 1930s, could no longer adequately serve the growing student population, physical education classes temporarily moved to a renovated cafeteria space.
Now, through financing provided by Government Capital combined with the district’s project funds, Hawley ISD is beginning the renovation and expansion of the old gymnasium. The use of the old facility allows the district to retain a historic community symbol while providing a state-of-the-art learning environment for students for years to come.
“Throughout the entire experience, Government Capital has been a tremendous resource in educating our board on the different funding options and how they can benefit our district,” stated Dr. Cassidy McBrayer, Superintendent, Hawley ISD. “They have been responsive to the needs of the administration, through the planning and execution of funding, and will continue to serve as a resource for the duration of the project.”
