Whitney, TX (June 2023) – The City of Whitney announces the implementation of a city-wide water meter upgrade project. The upgrade began with a pilot program to test the difference the new radio-read meters could make. After noticing improvements in readings, the city made the decision to replace the remaining 1,100 meters. The water meters are being provided by Fortiline, and financing for the upgrades was provided by Government Capital Corporation, Southlake, Texas.
“Having partnered with Government Capital for over 20 years, working together is like working with family,” stated Kristi Woellert, City Secretary, City of Whitney. “When we need financing, we go to Government Capital. We greatly value their expertise and efficiency.”
“I want to congratulate Kristi Woellert and the City of Whitney on their water meter upgrades,” commented Stephanie Cates, Senior Vice President, Government Capital Corporation. “We take great pride in assisting Texas cities in meeting their goals and objectives.”
