DeRidder, LA (March 2023) – The City of DeRidder announces the acquisition of three new Rosenbauer Custom Pumpers. The new engines will replace models from the current fleet that have served the city for a combined 75 years. “These trucks are special because everyone in the department had input in their customization,” stated Fire Chief Ken Harlow. “Every city has different needs, and we had the opportunity to select the specifications that best serve our community and our department.” The apparatus are supplied by Bonaventure Fire & Safety and are anticipated to arrive at the beginning of 2024. The engines were acquired with funds from the American Rescue Plan Act and with financing by Government Capital Corporation, Southlake, Texas.
