LAFAYETTE PARISH WATERWORKS DISTRICT SOUTH UPGRADES WATER METERS

Lafayette Parish, LA (May 2022) – The Lafayette Parish Waterworks District South announces the upgrade of water meters including an Automatic Meter Infrastructure. This upgrade will allow for more accurate reads and operate more efficiently while improving the service to the residents of the southwestern section of Lafayette Parish. The new meters will replace existing water meters which have been in service for over two decades. The installation of the meters has begun and is anticipated to be completed by the fall of 2022. Coburns and Utility Metering Solutions provided the equipment and installation. McBade Engineers assisted with the project design. Financing was provided by Government Capital Corporation, Southlake, Texas.

About the Lafayette Parish Waterworks District South

The Lafayette Parish Waterworks District South (LPWDS) began serving customers in the Judice community in 1982. The system has since grown to supply water to most of the southwestern area of Lafayette Parish. LPWDS once produced water from two deep water wells, but eventually closed its plant in 2006 and currently purchases all of its water from Lafayette Utilities System. Today, LPWDS serves over 4,500 customers and has over 100 miles of water lines.

TOWN OF MANY UTILIZES LAMATS PURCHASING SERVICES TO UPGRADE WATER METERS

Many, LA (February 2022) – The Town of Many announces the upgrade of electronic water meters including an Automatic Meter Infrastructure. This upgrade will allow meters to be read and monitored more accurately as well as operate more efficiently while improving service to the residents of Many. “The Town’s Water Department employees currently spend approximately 68 hours a month manually reading 1,444 water meters on the system,” commented Robert H. Hable, Jr., Mayor, Town of Many. “These new automatic meters will allow that time to be invested in other needed areas such as improving infrastructure while delivering the best service possible to our community.” The Town selected the Louisiana Municipal Advisory and Technical Services Bureau (LaMATS) to assist with the lease purchase program. Core & Main provided the metering solution including project design and installation. Lease Financing was provided by Government Capital Corporation, Southlake, Texas.

CITY OF KAUFMAN UPGRADES WATER METERS

Kaufman, TX (November 2021) – The City of Kaufman announces the upgrade of water meters including an Automatic Meter Infrastructure. This upgrade will allow for more accurate reads and operate more efficiently while improving the service to the residents of Kaufman. This project will be replacing outdated water meters throughout the city and is anticipated to be completed by September 2022. CITY OF SEBEKA UPGRADES WATER METERS

Sebeka, MN (October 2021) – The City of Sebeka announces the upgrade of water meters including an Automatic Meter Infrastructure. This upgrade will allow for more accurate reads and operate more efficiently while improving the service to the residents of Sebeka. This infrastructure project is anticipated to be completed within the next few weeks. Ferguson Meters provided the metering solution including project design and installation.
