Walsenburg, CO (April 2024) – Huerfano County Fire Protection District (Huerfano County FPD) announces the addition of a hybrid fire apparatus to the district’s 19-vehicle fleet. The new unit has the ability to go where other apparatus cannot such as narrow roads, fields, swamplands, brushlands, and tight urban locations. Additionally, the truck can carry up to 1,500 gallons of water for wildlands where fire hydrants are nonexistent. The apparatus is currently being assembled to the district’s specifications by Ikon Fire LLC. Financing for the acquisition was provided by Government Capital Corporation, Southlake, Texas.

Nederland, CO (March 2023) – Nederland Fire Protection District announces the acquisition of a new Pierce Saber 4X4 pumper fire truck. The new apparatus will replace a 27-year-old engine as the first step in the district’s new Vehicle Replacement Plan. The plan involves replacing thirteen vehicles in the district’s fleet over the next eighteen years. The truck was purchased from Front Range Fire Apparatus, and financing was provided by Government Capital Corporation, Southlake, Texas.
