Bridgeport, Texas (October 2023) – The Bridgeport Economic Development Corporation (Bridgeport EDC) announces the acquisition of two parcels of land. One site is adjacent to the EDC’s current industrial park, Endeavor Bridgeport, and will be used for further industrial development. The other site sits beside the City of Bridgeport’s water treatment facility and provides space to expand the facility as well as other city departments. “The City of Bridgeport appreciates BEDC for the shared vision that we have for our town and the partnership and teamwork that makes it a reality,” stated Mike Murray, City Manager, City of Bridgeport. Planning for the sites will begin this fall. Financing for the acquisition was provided by Government Capital Corporation, Southlake, TX.
“Bridgeport EDC is proud to expand Endeavor Bridgeport for future industrial development and to have the opportunity to partner with the City of Bridgeport to expand infrastructure for commercial and residential services,” stated Leah Clark, Executive Director, Bridgeport EDC. “We are thankful for Government Capital’s part in making our project a reality. Their expertise in the unique challenges facing EDCs was extremely valuable to us.”
“I would like to congratulate Leah Clark and the Bridgeport EDC on this acquisition and applaud them for the important work they have accomplished for the improvement and growth of the City of Bridgeport,” stated Matt Sullivan, Municipal Finance Specialist, Government Capital Corporation. “Government Capital is proud to partner with Texas Economic Development Corporations and support Texas communities.”
