Hondo, TX (March 2026) – Medina Central Appraisal District announces the acquisition of an 8,300 square foot office building in the City of Hondo. A move a long time in the making, the acquisition comes after years of dedicated planning and budgeting coupled with significant growth in Medina County. Renovations to restructure the space to best fit the District’s needs are scheduled to begin promptly. Financing for the acquisition and renovations was provided by Government Capital Corporation of Southlake, TX.
“The Government Capital team has been a tremendous help and has made the financing process a smooth one despite some issues we encountered prior to the legislative changes,” Johnette Dixon, Chief Appraiser at Medina CAD, shared.
“I want to congratulate Johnette Dixon and the Medina Central Appraisal District on acquiring and renovating their new facility,” Drew Whitington, Vice President at Government Capital Corporation, shared. “We take great pride in partnering with Texas Appraisal Districts to support them in navigating the new tax-exempt financing structure made available by Texas Senate Bill 2073.”
