DeKalb, TX (August 2024) – In early 2022, DeKalb ISD began an addition to the high school’s gymnasium. The primary focus of the expansion was to provide locker room space for visiting teams, girls’ athletics, and boys’ basketball. Additional features include coaches’ offices, a large classroom, a dedicated laundry room, and a large storage area. As construction costs for the project increased, the school board approved a partnership with Government Capital to finance the completion of the expansion. The district anticipates concluding the project by December 2024 and opening the space to students the following spring semester.
