Haughton, LA (February 2024) – The Town of Haughton announces the addition of a new Rescue Pumper to the fire department’s 10-vehicle fleet. The new apparatus is replacing a pumper truck that served the town for over twenty years and will be put into reserve status. The new truck serves a dual purpose of providing both rescue services and carrying water for emergency situations. The Rescue Pumper was recently delivered from Bulldog Fire Apparatus and will soon be put into service after customizations are completed. Financing for the acquisition was provided by Government Capital Corporation, Southlake, Texas.
“We are grateful to Government Capital for their partnership on this acquisition,” stated Kim Gaspard, Mayor, Town of Haughton. “We thought we would have to wait years for a new truck, but Gov Cap gave us the ability to purchase a truck when we needed it. It’s great to have someone you know you can turn to.”
“I want to congratulate Mayor Kim Gaspard, Fire Chief Jimmy Holland, and the Town of Haughton on this acquisition,” commented Marti Sauls, Municipal Finance Specialist, Government Capital Corporation. “We take great pride in assisting Louisiana cities with the completion of projects that enable them to continue to provide the best living experience for their communities.”
